Creative arts events

  • Our Creative Arts Events are vibrant, youth-led gatherings that bring together poets, musicians, visual artists, and storytellers to share their work in a space rooted in care, connection, and creative expression. Each event is designed to spotlight emerging talent while fostering dialogue around SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being. Whether it’s through spoken word, music, or live art, these events create space for reflection, joy, and community healing.

We hosted our first Creative Arts event in February 2025, and returned with an even more powerful gathering in June 2025, featuring the premiere of Healing Not for Sale and performances from youth across the city.

  • Creative Arts events take place throughout the year in Toronto. Future event dates will be announced through our website and social media platforms as they’re confirmed.

  • Stay tuned for upcoming open calls to attend or perform. Whether you're an artist or a supporter of the arts, we’d love for you to be part of the next one. All events are free and open to youth and community members alike.

Retreats

  • Our youth retreats are healing-centered, community-rooted experiences designed to support rest, leadership, and creative exploration. Each retreat blends wellness practices, dialogue, and hands-on activities to help young people reconnect with themselves and with others. From nature-based reflection spaces to skill-building workshops, our retreats prioritize mental health, peer connection, and collective care. All retreats are free and include meals, materials, and transportation when needed.

  • Retreats are hosted at various points throughout the year, typically over two to three consecutive days. Dates and details for each retreat are shared when applications open, with ample notice to allow participants to prepare. All retreats take place in or near the Greater Toronto Area and are scheduled to maximize accessibility for youth with school or work commitments.

  • Retreat opportunities are announced on our website and social media. To apply, youth complete a short form outlining their interest and availability. Space is limited, and participation is confirmed based on alignment with the retreat’s goals. Follow our instagram @loveandhelpheal for updates on our next retreat!

E3 Cohort program

  • The E3 Cohort — short for Education, Employment, and Empowerment — is a youth-focused program designed to support personal growth, practical skill-building, and confidence in navigating systems that often feel inaccessible. Through interactive workshops, guest speakers, and mentorship sessions, participants explore topics like resume writing, goal setting, financial literacy, and wellness - all within a supportive and empowering community space.

  • The E3 Cohort is offered at select points throughout the year and runs over multiple sessions, either in-person or online. Each cohort includes a mix of hands-on learning, peer collaboration, and personalized reflection. Our next E3 Cohort will be running in Fall 2025 and will be virtual. Follow @loveandhelpheal for updates!

  • When applications open, we share them on our website and social media. Interested youth are invited to complete a short form outlining their goals and interest in the program.

art-based workshops

  • Our art-based workshops use creativity as a tool for reflection, connection, and advocacy. These in-person sessions take place throughout the year in Toronto and bring together youth to explore social issues, well-being, and community through artistic expression. From collage and storytelling to zine-making and visual journaling, each workshop is a space to slow down, create with intention, and imagine new possibilities.

  • When workshops are announced, a registration form will be made available online. All sessions are free, with materials and refreshments provided. Spots are limited and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Stay tuned for upcoming workshop opportunities.

creative productions

  • Our creative productions explore the intersection of storytelling, healing, and social impact through youth-led media. From documentaries to digital campaigns, we use film, photography, and art to share raw, honest narratives that often go unheard — especially in the nonprofit and advocacy space. Working alongside our in-house creative team and youth collaborators, we aim to produce media that’s grounded, reflective, and rooted in community truth.

Our first documentary, Healing Not for Sale, offered an unfiltered look at the realities of youth working in the social impact space — navigating burnout, rejection, and purpose while giving back to their communities. The film premiered at our Creative Arts event in 2025 and sparked conversations around care, justice, and sustainability in movement work.

  • We are currently working behind the scenes on our next creative media project. Dates and details will be announced soon, and opportunities to collaborate or participate will be shared on our platforms.

  • There is no open call at this time, but stay tuned for updates. We’ll post applications and creative roles when we begin production on our next project. In the meantime, follow our journey on social media or check back here for updates.
